“Well look at that! I don’t look Fat today!”

My outlook on weight loss changes drastically week by week. Sometimes I feel like I’m totally comfortable at the size I am now, and other times I feel completely disgusted.

It feels like I’m tip-toeing on a slippery tightrope, trying to make it on the other side to arrive feeling complacent regarding my size, but every other week (and sometimes day) I am so close to falling off.

One thing that I find really interesting is other people’s viewpoint on my weight. I get the “it’s so good to see a real woman blah blah blah,” or “You look fine. It’s nothing wrong with having some meet on your bones.” It’s as if people feels as though it’s their duty to give me their validation. It’s not and believe me, I don’t want it nor do I need it.

Finally trying to rid myself of my own tug of war, a month ago I got back at it. First up was getting in the mindset of losing weight again. The thought of that was exhausting, so I switched it to getting healthy.

Now that is my main reason to lose weight. I want to live a healthy life. I want to be in the best shape imaginable so I can feel great on the inside and out. Thinking I don’t look so fat on one day out of the week is simply not good enough. As cliche as it might sound, it really does matter what’s on the inside.

Now that so many amazing things are happening for me (for the better…so excited to make a few new announcements), it’s sometimes hard to find time to dedicate to making right choices. But with the help of my lovely boyfriend (who informs me everyday of how sore he is from hitting the gym after work), and the lovely Tumblr photos of hot, fit chicks with lovely curly fros and amazing style, I find myself staying on track.

P.S. I doubt I’ll blow up my YouTube channel with weekly weigh-ins, but I’ll probably devote a video here and there on my progress.  :o)

When Imitation ISN’T TAKEN as the sincerest form of Flattery…

Oh where or where has creativity gone? Oh where or where can it be?

This is what I’ve been wondering for the past few months. Looking at just about everything is beginning to be such a bore.

Once someone or something becomes popular or successful, everybody who admires them or it begins to duplicate it until it becomes dull.

Have no idea what I’m talking about? Take the POParazzi earrings that the BasketBall Bums…err Wives wore for example. In the next few weeks, every naturalista turned jewelry designer decided to re-create them. And while some did say “inspired by POParazzi’s designs,” they should have said “STRAIGHT JACKED FROM POPARRAZI’S DESIGN!”

Another thing I find completely crazy? When people ask you how you do things, get the answer, do the EXACT same thing, and then never give you credit for it. REALLY? Who does that and why?

Let’s not get it twisted! I’m not trying to hate on anyone’s hustle! I just think we need to get back to becoming authentic and creative. Not only will you feel proud of what you’ve created, but other people will admire you for it as well.

If you feel like you’ve also been bitten by the “JOCKER BUG” remember this: Just because someone steals your style, doesn’t mean they’ll steal your appeal. Why? Because they’re not YOU! People will still gravitate towards you because of what you’ve STARTED. Never let the annoying jockers feel like they’ve stole your soul. Stick to what you love and continue to grow upon it. You’ll thank yourself and so will your admirers.

I usually don’t like to rant, but this just had to be said.
